What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is a strength and conditioning methodology with the intent of producing individuals that can perform well across a broad spectrum of physical demands. In CrossFit terms, you are only as fitĀ  as you are competent in each of these 10 general fitness skills: cardiorespiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, accuracy, agility, and balance. To accomplish this goal of producing a fitness generalist, CrossFit utilizes constantly varied, functional exercises, that are performed at high intensity. CrossFit athletes will perform such tasks as lifting weights, jumping on boxes, flipping tires, throwing medicine balls, swinging kettlebells, carrying odd objects, rowing, running, and climbing ropes. Every CrossFit workout is scalable to your level of fitness and physical ability. Everyone from the elite athlete down to the absolute fitness beginner is doing CrossFit.
