Sunday StoryโฆWhat Matters
Most to you? Stop and ask yourself this question. Do it now and do it often. Is what you are doing right now what you should be doing according to what you think will matter?
What we do on a day to day basis is rarely what will really matter. The time we spend away from our purpose, away from our true calling is time we can never get back. And it is easy to get off track. There are so many distractions in our modern world. Itโs time to set those things aside and decide what is meaningful to you and your life. There are so many things you could chooseโฆFamily, Friends, Health, leaving a legacy, or ? Write those things down as they come to your mind and letโs focus on those things.
The fact of the matter is it will all come to an end and maybe sooner than you think. There is no guarantee on the number of your days you have left. I will leave you with this quote from Michael Josephson of the Josephson Institute:
โWhat will matter is not what you bought, but what you built;
not what you got, but what you gave.
What will matter is not your success, but your significance.
What will matter is not what you learned, but what you taught.
What will matter is every act of integrity, compassion, courage or sacrifice that enriched, empowered or encouraged others.
What will matter is not your competence, but your character.
What will matter is not how many people you knew,
but how many will feel a lasting loss when youโre gone.
What will matter is not your memories,
but the memories that live in those who loved you.
Living a life that matters doesnโt happen by accident.
Itโs not a matter of circumstance but of choice.
Choose to live a life that matters.โ
Itโs up to you to determine what matters most to you. Figure it out and then get after it!
